Homopolymer
The molecular structure of the Homopolymer, obtained by polymerization of Formaldehyde, presents several identical units:
– (– CH2O – ) n –
Homopolymer present a lower heat resistance and oxygen resistance either during processing or on the final product, having unstable links among its molecular structure, despite of better characteristics such as:
- higher melting point
- higher rigidity
- higher hardness
- shorter molding time
when compared to Copolymer.
Copolymer
In random positions of the Copolymer molecular structure, obtained by copolymerization of Trioxan (Formaldehyde Trimer) there is a different monomer:
HO – Y – [– (CH20)n – Y ] – CH2 – Y – H
The linear structure and its enhanced crystalline grade give the copolymer good physicalmechanical properties, for high-tech applications instead of other tech-polymers or even metal Also available with glass filling for injection molding of items where high stiffness, hardness, lower thermal deformation and low mold shrinkage are required.

Industrial grade Acetal
Industrial grade Acetal are in form of dull natural, medium flow and high flow types. Black is also available for general purpose. Reprocessing of Acetal, either from regrind or from pellets, can be successfully done because the loss of the main characteristics, due to further processing, is very small.
Obviously it is compulsory that the material must not be contaminated with foreign resins and thermal degradation has not occurred in previous processes.
